Never Give Up!

-“While he was saying this, a ruler came and knelt before him and said, ‘My daughter has just died, but come and put your hand on her, and she will live.’ Jesus got up and went with him, and so did the disciples.” (Matthew 9:18-19) Here’s a dad with a dead daughter not willing to give up. This father has something to teach us fathers today feel that feel like giving up. Many men may look at their families with all that is facing the home today, with their own baggage or their children’s rebellion but we can learn from this dad who looked to Another Father to touch his daughter to be raised from the dead. A man is helpless to do anything without the touch of this Father who addresses the paralytic as “son” (9:2) and a sick woman as “daughter” (9:22). Dear Lord, please touch each of my children with your life giving, Father- touch today.
