An Amazing Rescue

Last week the news story of the rescue of a father, Walter Marino, 46, and his son, Chris, 12, who has autism, off the Florida coast captured the imaginations of people everywhere. This was truly a miracle that both father and son were found alive after being tossed about for over 12 hours in the darkness. That they both were alive, unharmed and found in waters that were known as shark invested is amazing.

The father was found first by a good Samaritan boat and the son was spotted miles away, two hours later, by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter.

The real miracle is how this father would risk losing his own life to save his son. It is a miracle that is performed every day by countless fathers who sacrifice for their children.

Chris will know as long as he lives that his father loves him enough to lay down his own life for him. He is forever blessed with a tangible illustration of father love – and that’s Father Power, plain and simple!
