One Dad's Lonely Obedience

-“When Joseph woke up he did what the angel had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.” (Matthew 1:24) Joseph, the man the Father called to be the surrogate father of His only Son, demonstrates right from the “get go” what pleased the Father. Joseph was a man who obeyed the Lord, He chose not to succumb to his own fears about taking as his wife a woman who would be seen as an adulteress by those who did not believe. Lord, make me like Joseph, who obeyed and did what You called him to do. The earthly family of your Son was built upon this foundation of this one dad’s lonely obedience.
